Outreach Readings 2018

This summer we sent out a call for volunteers interested in reading to the residents of Tiffany Village/Kenny’s Pond Retirement Homes, Meadow Creek Retirement Centre, Cambridge Estates, Admiral’s Coast Retirement Centre, and Bonaventure Retirement Home. We happily received plenty of interest and, since then, have connected three of our members with retirement centres in the St. John’s metro area and plan to continue creating these connections for months to come. Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in volunteering–your generosity heartens us.

We were also happy to partner with Raise Up Fundraising to bring Drag Storytime to the local St. John’s Farmers’ Market. Kids came to meet local drag King superstar Doctor Androbox for stories, smiles and laughs, then photos with Drag royalty. Donations for the Parents of Trans & Gender Diverse Kids – Newfoundland & Labrador youth summer camp were collected.
