George Murray, Executive Director

George Murray (he/him) has worked in the arts and culture sector in Newfoundland & Labrador for 20 years. He is the former executive director of the Association of Cultural Industries of Newfoundland & Labrador and has sat on many local, provincial, and national committees and working groups, including the City of St. John’s Cultural Advisory Committee, Cultural Tourism Steering Committee, the Canadian Cultural Human Resources Council, the Atlantic Publishers Marketing Association, various committees and juries at The Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, ArtsNL, Manitoba Arts Council, the City of St. John’s, City of Toronto, and more. He is a past WritersNL board member, and is a longstanding board member for the experimental theatre company One Little Goat (New York/Toronto). George is also an author with ten books, including seven books of poetry, two books of aphorisms, and one book for children. He lives in St. John’s.

Olivia Robinson, Programming Assistant

Originally from the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Olivia Robinson (she/her) now lives in St. John’s. Her debut novel, The Blue Moth Motel, published by Breakwater Books in 2021, was a runner up for the NLCU Fresh Fish Award in 2020 and won the 2022 PEI Book Award for Fiction. Olivia completed her BA in English at the University of Prince Edward Island and her MA in English (Creative Writing) at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador.
