Ony Anukem Eledu

Ony Anukem Eledu is a British-Nigerian poet and writer living in St. John’s, Newfoundland & Labrador. Ony was born and raised in the suburbs of London, UK, and credits both her heritage and the multicultural fusion of the city for her interest in travelling and exploring what the world had to offer beyond her reality. From an early age, she was drawn to words and language to connect with herself and others, and her writing is inspired by her lived experience and the human experience more broadly. She considers her a global citizen and has visited 31 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, North America and South America. When she is not writing, travelling or working, she enjoys immersing herself in local arts & culture offerings and cuisines with her husband or reading a new book.
