Boyd Holloway

Boyd Holloway was born and raised in Bloomfield, Bonavista Bay. From a very early age, he has been fascinated with the written and spoken word, receiving formal instruction in public speaking from the age of 8. As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he coordinated the public relations department for the provincial organization for 22 years, appearing on several CBC television programs, including Shirley Newhook’s “Coffee Break” and “Dialogue” with Richard Beaton. His first magazine article was published in Awake! in 1978, with 8,900,000 copies of that issue distributed worldwide in 33 languages. He published his first book, The Truth Marches On, in October 2023.

Boyd has been married to his beautiful wife, Rebecca, for 54 years. They have two sons and a daughter who have blessed them with seven wonderful grandchildren.

Boyd is a writer, artist (oils and watercolour), sign maker (hand-painted and hand-carved signs), musician (writing songs, singing and playing guitar) and an ordained minister. Although construction work is outside his comfort zone as an artist and writer, he proudly lives in the home he built with his own hands nearly forty years ago in Spanish Room, overlooking Mortier Bay on the scenic Burin Peninsula.
