Alison Dyer

Alison Dyer’s debut poetry collection, I’d Write the Sea Like a Parlour Game, won the E.J. Pratt Poetry Prize, a Newfoundland & Labrador Book Award, in 2019. Dyer’s poetry and short fiction appear in several Canadian literary journals and anthologies. A former freelance writer and journalist, she now spends her time as a sea kayak expedition guide, backpacker, hiker, photographer, organic farmer/ permaculturalist and poet. Much of her writing focuses on the interaction between the natural world and the human animal. She is currently working on her second poetry collection.
