June 21 - July 25

BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND – Writing Real Life: A Non-Fiction Writing Course for NL Youth 18-30, presented by Artforce NL and WritersNL, facilitated by WritersNL President Ainsley Hawthorn, PhD!

Have you ever wanted to write up a meaningful story from your own life or someone else’s?

Have you ever wondered how to publish an article that brings readers up to speed on a subject you’re passionate about or convinces them to agree with your opinion on a hot-button topic?

In this FREE six-week course, you’ll learn the basics of four types of non-fiction writing — personal narrative, opinion, expository, and interview — and how to get that writing published.

Instructor Ainsley Hawthorn, PhD, is an author and cultural historian based in St. John’s. She writes for CBC, blogs for Psychology Today, and edited the critically acclaimed anthology Land of Many Shores: Perspectives from a Diverse Newfoundland and Labrador (Breakwater Books 2021).
