The Arts & Culture Centre main entrance (near the ticket booth) is accessible.

Readings and panel discussion. Q&A to follow. Hosted by Rogers TV’s Don-E Coady. In an adjacent room, we’ll also have BALLOON TWISTING and ARTS & CRAFTS for the kids.

AWARD FINALISTS:
– Lori Doody for The Puffin Problem (Running the Goat, Books and Broadsides)
– Sheilah Lukins for Full Speed Ahead: Errol’s Bell Island Adventure (Breakwater Books)
– Rebecca North for Elliot and the Impossible Fish (Breakwater Books)

This event will be recorded by Rogers TV and photographs will be taken on site.

Books will be available for purchase.


The Bruneau Family Award for Children’s/YA Literature is presented in even years. It recognizes excellence in the genre. The award is generously funded by the Bruneau family.

The 2018 Newfoundland & Labrador Book Awards are for works in Fiction and Children’s/Young Adult Literature. The Fiction Award Readings will take place at the City of St. John’s Foran Room on August 29 starting at 7 p.m.
