A Romance Writing Contest

The Writer’s Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador is passionate about passion! And we want to share in the love with Newfoundland and Labrador romance authors.

Whether you’re an established, published author or an emerging, aspiring writer, we want your best romantic scene, to a maximum of 1,000 words. We’re looking for swoon-worthy, polished submissions.

What’s in it for you? The chance to have your work reviewed by internationally bestselling and award-winning authors from local romance publisher, Black Ink Romance, not to mention some incredible prizes!

♥ Bestselling author, Melanie Martin ♥
♥ Internationally bestselling/award-winning author, Kate Robbins ♥

Our top five submissions will be announced at an upcoming romance-themed event:
7 p.m. on Feb. 12th at Boca Tapas Bar in downtown St. John’s.

Writers of the top selected submissions will be invited to read their work for an audience vote!
The top three audience favourites will receive prizes and of course, bragging rights!

Are you interested in submitting but do not live in or are unable to travel to the St. John’s area?
No problem. We’ll arrange a reader for you.

The contest closes Monday, February 3rd, 2020 at 5:00 P.M., NST.
Must be 19+ years of age and resident of Newfoundland and Labrador.
