DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Folklore Next-Door

March 16, 2022

DEADLINE EXTENDED TO MARCH 16, 2022.

Folklore is fluid and ever-changing. Retellings and interpretations morph over time until sometimes it seems like we all have a different version of the same story and no one quite knows where it came from.

Do you know of any good folk tales or urban legends in your area? Do you want to make one up? After all, how would we know the difference?

Send us your take on an NL folktale (either one you’ve heard through the grapevine or one you’ve concocted on your own) and enter our “Folklore Next-Door” writing contest for your chance to win ca$h!

This writing contest is open to all WANL Youth members (ages 30 and under) in good standing.

Writers of the top five selected submissions will take home the coveted first, second, third place + runners-up titles (and the accompanying financial prizes), and we’ll show your work off to all WANL Members in a special edition E-Zine!

This year’s prizes are:
🥇 1st place: $125
🥈 2nd place: $100
🥉 3rd place: $75
🏅 Runner Up x2: $50 each
