WANL Seeking Expressions of Interest for Workshop Facilitator and Panelists AGM weekend

WANL’s virtual AGM is coming up November 21-22, 2020, and we’re planning a number of events that will appeal to our broad and diverse membership base of talented established and emerging writers. Please apply to our AGM workshop or panel if you feel you are qualified!

1. Social Media and Marketing for Authors in the Age of Covid

We are looking for a workshop facilitator for this social media/marketing workshop (must be available to be online on the afternoon of Saturday, Nov. 21.)

The facilitator should have experience in building a social media platform, developing a brand and marketing as it specifically relates to selling both print and electronic books.

As part of the workshop, the facilitator will talk about marketing and social media with particular emphasis on addressing marketing challenges during shutdown (ie virtual book launches, how to deal with author signings and readings, new ways to promote, etc)

The workshop will run for 2 hours including time for questions.
Payment for each is $400 (HST included if applicable).

2. Panel discussion: “Page to Stage or Screen – How to Sell Or Adapt A Work.”

Panelists should be comfortable discussing one or more of the following: selling the media rights to a work, adapting a work for stage or screen, breaking into the film or TV industry as a writer, or producing a work for film or television.

Panelists must be available on the afternoon of November 22 for a one-hour panel discussion. Payment is $150 per panelist (HST included in the fee if applicable).

All expressions of interest (including a CV or publication history) should be received by the WANL office at info@wanl.ca, no later than 5pm, October 30, 2020.
