The Writers’ Alliance of Newfoundland and Labrador, WritersNL, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Member Services and Communications Coordinator. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to support the literary community in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Position: Member Services and Communications Coordinator
Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador
Start Date: August 19, 2024
Salary: $38,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Benefits: 10 paid vacation days per year, 5 paid sick days per year and Employer-funded health benefits package
Key Responsibilities:
– Maintain membership renewals and database.
– Facilitate timely communications to membership and the literary community, including bi-weekly eNewsletter, website updates, annual WORD magazine, Inkpod Podcast, and regular updates to all social media platforms.
– Spearhead all Youth member initiatives and participate in the Youth committee.
– General office administration, including managing the WritersNL Resource Room.
– Assist the Executive Director with event planning, delivery of WritersNL programs and services, and various committees. Some evenings and weekends are required.
Qualifications:
– Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
– Experience with social media management and content creation.
– Experience in newsletter/magazine layout/design.
– Proficiency in office administration and database management.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Passion for supporting the literary community and youth initiatives.
