CALL FOR PARTICIPANTS: WritersNL’s Virtual Writing Groups

Feeling isolated? Want to connect with other writers around NL? Join our Online Writers’ Group!

This initiative aims to support and inspire writers across rural areas of the province. Writing is typically a solo endeavour, but finding a group of writers who support one another can be a great source of inspiration and encouragement. Whether you’re a published author or working on your first book, this writing group can offer a supportive environment of like-minded people.

WritersNL’s facilitator, Lindsey Harrington, will help guide participants by encouraging writing and fostering group development. This writers’ group’s five sessions will be held virtually on Zoom during the summer and early fall 2024; specific dates will be determined later. Ideal candidates are writers at any level – entry or established.

How to Apply:

Send your application to info@writersnl.ca, including:

• Your name
• Literary genre
• Your geographic location. Applicants living in remote locations will receive priority.
• Short 50 to 100 word biography
• Availability for participation (Examples: only available on evenings and weekends, available anytime Mon-Fri 9-5 p.m., etc)
• A maximum 200 word statement outlining why you want to be a part of the group and what you would like to get out of the writing group. (Examples: assistance with my writing, opportunities to practice reading skills, receive critiques on works-in-progress, etc.)

The deadline for the call for participants is June 14, 2024, at 5 p.m. NST.
