WritersNL, is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Board of Directors as the Treasurer. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key leadership role in supporting and advocating for writers across our province.
As Treasurer, you will ensure the financial health and governance of WritersNL, helping guide our efforts to provide invaluable services and programs for writers of all stages. If you are someone with experience in financial management and a commitment to the arts and local community, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities of the Treasurer:
- Lead the Finance Committee in overseeing the financial health of the organization.
- Work with the Executive Director and Finance Committee to review financial statements and ensure the integrity of financial reporting.
- Guide the budgeting and auditing processes to ensure fiscal responsibility.
- Offer support and financial advice to the Executive Director and Board as needed.
- Present the annual financial statements to the membership at the Annual General Meeting.
- Ensure systems are in place for managing funds, preparing reports, and complying with tax requirements.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience in financial management, accounting, or a related field
- Ability to collaborate and contribute to strategic decision-making
- A commitment to the mission of WritersNL and the arts community in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Strong communication skills and an ability to engage with Board members, staff, and the community
