Kathy McWilliam
Kathy is a Maritimer ‘fish-out-of-water’ living in retirement in the lovely Niagara Region city of St. Catharine’s Ontario. After she retired, Kathy started researching her children’s Newfoundland heritage and became immersed in the lives of Newfoundlanders at the turn of the twentieth century, when so much was in flux and life could be very hard indeed. Her fascination with the era resulted in the historical novel ‘The Burin Girl’. Her Maritime provinces of residence are New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, and The McCarthys Trilogy is full of all the Bluenosers and Herring Chokers who take up space in her memory and imagination.
