Carol Best

Carol Best’s creative writing journey began in earnest in 2021 when she was selected by the Romance Writers of America for a mentorship program for emerging authors. Since she retired from the non-profit sector (where she mainly wrote funding proposals and accountability reports), Carol has enjoyed developing her creative writing skills. She’s taken numerous courses, participated in peer critique groups and completed several draft manuscripts. In the 2024 ‘Words of Warmth’ literary festival, she received first place in both the poetry and short prose categories. Carol mainly writes women’s fiction and contemporary romance with strong female protagonists. She is actively involved with Romance Writers of Atlantic Canada (RWAC) and is currently serving her second term on the executive.

Originally from southern Ontario, Carol has lived in Goose Bay, Labrador, for over forty years. Her debut romance novel will be released in 2027 by Engen Books https://www.engenbooks.com/.
